Philately club

Philately is the study and collection of stamps and is considered the world’s oldest formal collecting hobby. Great Britain was the first country to issue stamps, though their stamps do not feature the country’s name printed on them.
Philately club is a group of people who share an interest in the study and collection of stamps, postal history and related items. Philatelic clubs can be found in schools. Philately clubs can help people develop patience and persistence,and learn to classify objects and remember details.They can also help people learn about history,graphic design and other subjects

Being a part of the IEM Group , IEM Public School provides a caring and friendly environment where every child is valued and nurtured. Each eye is encouraged to see themselves as part of the school community, where academics, technology, co-curricular activities, physical training combined with integrity and respect for other people are given attention to.

Some activities that Philatelic clubs might organize include:

Competitions:
Clubs can coordinate with local authorities and the General Post Office to organize competitions.
Exhibits:
Clubs can put on exhibits of stamps and postal history.
Lectures:
Clubs can present scientific lectures.
Reviews:
Clubs can review philatelic products and literature.
Workshops:
Clubs can organize workshops on practical aspects of philately.
In IEM PUBLIC SCHOOL NEWTOWN, We always encourage students to learn the history of stamps, the stories behind the images on them, and the importance of stamps as a source of history. New Town Action Area 1 Post Office people are helping us to develop this skill. They are sending our students different stamps. They also created a stamp for our school which is very much prestigious for all of us. We are also providing them audio visual classes on Philately. We will have several plans like visiting post offices to learn about the history of postal services and see rare stamps.
